Howrah Mumbai Mail Accident Help Line Number: Two people died after 18 coaches of Howrah-Mumbai Mail derailed in Jharkhand, officials said. At least 18 coaches of the Howrah-Mumbai Mail derailed in Jharkhand’s Seraikela-Kharsawan district on Tuesday morning, killing two people and leaving about 100 injured, the railway department has issued helpline numbers.

This express train derailed in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. According to information, some bogies of the train derailed and collided with a goods train. The incident is reported to have happened around 3.45 am. Another senior SER official said, “The injured passengers were provided medical aid at Barabambu. They were taken to Chakradharpur for better treatment.”

Some trains were either stopped midway or their routes were diverted

Of these, 16 were passenger coaches, one power car and one pantry car, he said. Rescue operations were underway, he said. Due to the accident, SER cancelled some express and passenger trains on Tuesday, including 22861 Howrah-Titlagarh-Kantabanji Ispat Express and 12021 Howrah-Barbil Jan Shatabadi Express. Some other trains were either halted or diverted due to the accident near Barabambu station, the official said.

“At least 18 coaches of 12810 Howrah-Mumbai Mail with 22 coaches via Nagpur derailed near Barabambu station in SER’s Chakradharpur division at 3.45 am,” a SER spokesperson said. He said these included 16 passenger coaches, one power car and one pantry car.

He said the accident occurred at 3.45 am near Barabambu, about 80 km from Jamshedpur, under the Chakradharpur division of South Eastern Railway (SER). SER spokesperson Om Prakash Charan said a freight train had derailed nearby, but it was not clear whether the two accidents occurred simultaneously.
