Today the country is celebrating Janmashtami… Crowds of devotees gathered in Krishna temples across the country including Mathura

‘Nand was very happy’

The festival of Shri Krishna Janmashtami is being celebrated with great pomp across the country including Mathura on Monday. However, Janmashtami will be celebrated in Vrindavan on Tuesday i.e. 27 August. This is the 5251st birth anniversary of Lord Krishna. Experts believe that this time on Janmashtami, a coincidence like Dwapar Yuga is being made for 45 minutes, which is considered very auspicious. For Janmashtami, temples and squares across the country have been decorated for the grand celebration. At the same time, special Bhasma Aarti has been performed on the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami at Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain.

Shri Krishna Janmasthan temple will remain open for 20 hours

Kapil Sharma, secretary of Shri Krishna Janmasthan Seva Sansthan, said that the Krishna Janmasthan temple, which usually opens for 12 hours, will remain open for 20 hours on August 26, so that devotees can have uninterrupted darshan of the Lord.

He said that the Garbhagriha temple has been converted into Kansa’s prison. We will try to show the conditions prevailing in Dwapar Yuga during the birth of the unborn.

The celebration began at 5:30 a.m.

According to the officials of the institute, the celebration of Janmashtami will start at 5:30 am in the Sri Krishna Janmasthan temple. First of all, the celebration has started with the Panchamrit Abhishek and Pushpanjali of Thakur ji along with Mangala Aarti. And at midnight, Mahabhishek of Thakur ji Bal Swaroop will be held under the leadership of Saint Nritya Gopal Das. This celebration will start from around 11 pm and will continue till around 12.40 pm. This celebration will end with Shayan Aarti at 2 am. He said that on this day two major processions and a spiritual Shobha Yatra will also be taken out which will cover the major markets of the city.

CM Yogi congratulated on Janmashtami

The Chief Minister of the state Yogi Adityanath has already reached Mathura to participate in the Janmashtami festival. Now on Monday, he has wished the countrymen on the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami. He wrote on his social media handle, Jai Kanhaiya Lal Ki! Hearty congratulations and best wishes to all the devotees and the people of the state on the holy birth anniversary of Kripasindhu, Shri Banke Bihari Ji, ‘Shri Krishna Janmashtami’! May Yashodanandan, Bhuvan Mohan Kanhaiya, the savior of the whole world, who established religion and ended unrighteousness, injustice and oppression, do good to the entire inanimate world, this is my wish.

Apart from CM Yogi, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has also wished the countrymen a Happy Janmashtami.

Auspicious time of Janmashtami

This time Bhado Krishna Ashtami Tithi will be from 03.39 am on 26th August to 02.19 am on 27th August. Householders will celebrate Janmashtami on 26th August. On this day, the auspicious time for worshipping Shri Krishna will be from 12.00 midnight to 12.44 am. During this period, Shri Krishna will be born and Janmotsav will be celebrated.

One thousand devotees will be allowed in Banke Bihari temple

Amidst all this, a few days ago, Agra Divisional Commissioner Ritu Maheshwari had announced that to prevent any accident due to overcrowding on the occasion of Janmashtami in Vrindavan, only one thousand devotees will be allowed to attend the Mangala Aarti at Thakur Banke Bihari temple on the night of Janmashtami. She had said that the ban is being maintained for the second consecutive year to ensure the safety of the devotees.

The ceremony will be live-streamed

The Allahabad High Court on August 16 directed that prayers at the Banke Bihari temple in Vrindavan be live-streamed during Janmashtami celebrations in consultation with the civil judge of Mathura.

Delhi Police issued traffic advisory

Keeping Janmashtami in mind, Delhi Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory for travellers and devotees on Sunday. Delhi Police has closed the roads near many major temples and Shobha Yatra. Major programs of Janmashtami will be organized at Lakshmi Narayan Temple in New Delhi, ISKCON Temple in East of Kailash, Dwarka Sector 13 and Rohini Sector 25, DDA Ground in Dwarka Sector 10, Janmashtami Park in Punjabi Bagh, Golok Dham Temple in Dwarka Sector 10, Adhya Katyani Shakti Peeth in Chhatarpur, Gufa Wala Mandir in Preet Vihar and Santoshi Mata Temple in Hari Nagar.

According to the Delhi Police advisory, no vehicle will be allowed on Mandir Road between Talkatora Stadium Roundabout and Peshwa Road, Mandir Marg T-Point. Mandir Lane will also be restricted from Shankar Road crossing to Mandir Marg. Routes for buses and commercial vehicles have been changed for Mandir Marg. Buses coming from Shivaji Stadium and going towards Mandir Marg will be diverted towards Panchkuiyan Road or GPO Roundabout.

It said heavy vehicles will be banned on Captain Gaur Marg and other major intersections east of Kailash from 8 am on Monday to 1 pm on August 27 and roads around Raja Dhirsen Marg will also remain closed. In Punjabi Bagh, diversions for commercial vehicles on the ring road and adjoining areas will be implemented around major points such as Raja Garden crossing, Club Road T-point and Shivaji Park crossing.
