Rashtriya Janata Dal’s Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Jha on Friday slammed the government over the NEET paper leak case. He said that I request you to throw NTA in the Arabian Sea or the Bay of Bengal, the choice is yours. He called CUET the ‘father of coaching’.

Manoj Jha said that earlier education used to be in the state list. A lot happened after the 42nd amendment but education almost went out of the hands of the state. He said, ‘In the last few years, there is an obsession in our country, one-one-one-one… hey, this country itself is many. Unity in diversity. There is diversity of food, clothing, language, region, religion here.’

Manoj Jha said, ‘Amidst all this diversity, our approach should have respected diversity, but an institution like NTA does not do justice to that concept.’ He said, ‘We had some problems in admission in Delhi University. Due to marks of different boards. We are a wonderful country. We made arrangements for CUET in place of that. I had never imagined that a child would go to a coaching institute to get admission in an undergraduate course in political science. CUET is the ‘father of coaching’.

Talking about the fee structure, Manoj Jha said, ‘This entire system is CBSE tilted. These exams do not take into account the system of the state boards.’ He said, ‘When the Supreme Court was being cited on these subjects, the Supreme Court has said a lot of things. You should not just do cherry picking.’

Manoj Jha said, ‘With today’s technology, if any paper gets leaked in Patna, it does not have to be taken to Gujarat by plane ticket. It will reach in seconds. I would like to say that I also requested the minister to throw NTA in the Arabian Sea or the Bay of Bengal, the choice is yours.’
