America is deploying weapons in the Middle East
The Pentagon announced on Friday that the US is deploying an additional fighter squadron to the Middle East after regional tensions escalated in the Middle East last week. It has also been announced that additional cruisers and destroyers will also be deployed to help defend Israel and protect US forces. A Pentagon spokesman said the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier will replace the USS Theodore Roosevelt in the Middle East.
Hezbollah has also warned of attack
Iran’s permanent mission to the UN has warned that the group could launch “more extensive and deep” attacks against civilian and military targets inside Israel in response to the killing of Fuad Shukr, a top Hezbollah commander, in the Lebanese capital Beirut on Tuesday. It is not yet clear whether Hezbollah will again be part of a simultaneous retaliatory strike on Israel by Iran and its regional allies, or whether it will launch its own attack.
How powerful is Hezbollah?
Hezbollah is believed to have a stockpile of 150,000 missiles and rockets, some of which are long-range. For example, if such a large number of missiles are launched, it will be difficult for Israel’s Iron Dome to intercept them. Long-range missiles are effective in targeting targets inside Israel. The Israeli army, which is currently in Gaza, will not be able to fight a war on two fronts simultaneously in the south and north.
