Eknath Shinde feedback Maharashtra MLC Election Results: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Friday said that the victory of all nine candidates of the Mahayuti (ruling alliance in the state) in the Legislative Council elections is a ‘trailer’ ahead of the state assembly elections to be held later this year. Apart from CM Shinde, both Deputy CMs of the state Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar have also reacted to the election results. Let us tell you who said what?

What did CM Shinde say on victory in MLC elections?

Eknath Shinde told reporters that a false narrative was created by the opposition in the Lok Sabha elections and people were misled. He said, ‘Mahayuti has registered a big victory. This is a good start. A false narrative was created (that the Constitution will be changed by the BJP). People were misled. Mahayuti’s victory (in the Legislative Council elections) is a ‘trailer’.

Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis made this big claim

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said the Opposition was claiming that a candidate of the ruling alliance would lose but the results showed that the Mahayuti got votes not only from its constituents but also from the MLAs of the Maha Vikas Aghadi. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won five seats, while the Shiv Sena led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) led by Ajit Pawar got two seats each. The ruling alliance thus won nine of the 11 seats that went to polls.

To whom did Ajit Pawar give the credit for the victory?

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said he, Fadnavis and Shinde held several meetings to ensure better coordination and sharing of responsibilities, which led to the victory of the Mahayuti candidates. He said the Mahayuti will work unitedly to ensure the alliance’s victory in the assembly elections. The election was held because the six-year term of 11 members of the Legislative Council is ending on July 27.
