They used to marry beautiful girls, then loot and run away, robber gang exposed in Prayagraj

Naini police of Prayagraj, UP has caught such a gang which used to arrange marriages by showing pictures of beautiful girls to the families of the boys. After the marriage, the bride used to run away with all the jewellery and other items. After the complaint, the police of Naini police station of UP’s Commissionerate Prayagraj has caught the gang. It includes four men and five women. Currently, after the arrest, all have been sent to jail.

The secret was revealed after the complaint of a youth from Muzaffarnagar

The police have recovered the looted gold and silver jewellery, mobile phones and Rs 55,000 cash from the accused. Apart from this, the police is still investigating how many more people this gang has made its victims. Apart from this, the police is also gathering information about other members of this gang.

A few days ago, the gang had also made Aman, a resident of Muzaffarnagar in western UP, its victim. The members of the Looteri Dulhan gang first showed Aman a photo and then called him to Prayagraj to get married. After the wedding, when Aman started going home with his wife, he was stopped by accused Shuklal and other members of the gang. After this, they snatched the jewellery and cash worth lakhs offered at the wedding near the Yamuna bridge and fled with the bride. After which Aman reached Naini police station in Prayagraj and lodged an FIR against the accused.

They used to loot in Prayagraj by calling people from outside

Prayagraj’s ACP Karchana Varun Kumar said that on August 28, a gang had called a youth from Muzaffarnagar in western Uttar Pradesh for marriage. Aman Singh, a resident of Bhagela of Khatauli police station, reached Naini police station on Thursday night. He told that he had come to Prayagraj with his uncle Ashok Kumar and uncle Ram Kumar. During this time, former acquaintance Shuklal, a resident of Kaushambi, talked about Aman’s marriage. Shuklal took 70 thousand rupees after liking the girl. After this, he got Aman married in Shul Tankeshwar temple of Arail.

All the arrested accused are residents of Dhoomanganj and Airport police station area. They used to call outsiders on the pretext of marriage by showing them photos of girls of their gang. Seeing the opportunity, they used to run away with their valuables, money and jewellery. Earlier also this gang has carried out many such incidents. At present, the police will interrogate these people further, so that it can be ascertained how many such incidents the gang has carried out till now.
