‘If you come to America like this, no one will ask for water’
A person with the Instagram ID ‘John In India’ said – Indians are amazing in hospitality. I reached someone’s house at 4 pm without informing anyone and they fed me so much food that you can’t even imagine. He further says – If you reach America without informing anyone, no one even asks for water. Then he says laughingly – There is one problem with Indians, they feed so much food. I tried to tell them very lovingly and indirectly that I am full but they kept on feeding me. I felt that if I get up from eating, they might feel bad.
‘Recognition of ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ in India’
More than a million people have watched this video of John. People have showered comments as well. Most Indians have explained to him in their comments that ‘this happens because in India there is a belief of ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’, that is, a guest is like God’.
‘Love is served on a platter here’
Many people said – ‘India is like this, if you go to a poor person’s house, he will definitely ask you for food.’ Another one jokingly wrote – ‘I will tell you the cheat code. When the stomach is half full, then start saying that it is full.’ One user said – ‘In our India, love is served in the form of food in the plate, the more the food, the more the love.’
‘Indian hospitality is really amazing’
A user said- I am an Indian living in America, if you say hello to my mother and tell her that you like Indian food, she will not let you go without feeding you. At the same time, many people from foreign countries agreed with John and said that the hospitality of Indians is really amazing. John is a digital creator and an American expat living in India. Some time ago, John shared another video. In this, he said – I have been living in India for some time. During this time, I have understood that Indian men suddenly and very easily go into lecture mode. He further said – Suppose I say a sentence about something, then he will give a 30-minute lecture on it. He further said that – ‘Indian men also express their views on those issues about which they do not know anything. That is, if I tell about the American culture where I grew up, then he will start lecturing me about that too.’
