The web of fake certificates…

After Pooja Khedkar came into the limelight, when the investigation of her becoming an IAS started, one layer after another of lies started getting exposed. Pooja had submitted a fake certificate of OBC category to get into UPSC quota, whereas she is a creamy layer OBC. Khedkar had not only shown a fake certificate of OBC but also a fake certificate of disability to UPSC. Pooja Khedkar had told UPSC that she had mental problems and weak eyesight. Apart from this, she also talked about locomotor disability in the left knee. Regarding the mental problem, she told that she is not able to remember things. UPSC has a proper disabled quota for such students.

After this, UPSC decided to get Pooja examined in AIIMS. UPSC only accepts the reports of government hospitals. Through this report, UPSC wanted to confirm that Pooja is really mentally ill and has weak eyesight. For Pooja’s medical test, UPSC took appointments with doctors in AIIMS a total of six times, but you will be surprised to know that Pooja kept avoiding the test every time by making excuses. When the test was done, Pooja’s mental certificate was also considered fake.

Not only this, Pooja had stated her age as 30 years in the application given to the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) in 2020. But in the application given in 2023, she stated her age as 31 years. Pooja changed her name and her parents’ name and gave the exam more times than the prescribed number of attempts. An OBC candidate can give only 9 attempts, but Pooja gave the exam more times than this.

15 years of records were searched

To investigate the Pooja Khedkar case, UPSC reviewed the data of the last 15 years. After this, it came to light that Khedkar’s was the only case in which it could not be ascertained how many times Khedkar had given the UPSC exam. Because every time he had changed not only his name but also the name of his parents. Now to prevent this from happening in the future, UPSC is preparing to strengthen the SOP further.

anticipatory bail plea dismissed

Surrounded from all sides, Pooja had approached the court for anticipatory bail. But the Patiala House Court has rejected the anticipatory bail plea of sacked IAS officer Pooja Khedkar. Pooja had approached the court saying that she has not done any kind of fraud or rigging but has presented whatever correct documents she has before UPSC.
