There was no gang rape in Kolkata case, CBI found evidence of involvement of only one person

There are continuous protests across the country in the Kolkata rape and murder case. The CBI has filed a status report in the Supreme Court regarding this case. Meanwhile, ‘Aaj Tak’ has got important information about this status report. The investigation done by the CBI so far has pointed towards the involvement of only a person named Sanjay Roy in the rape and murder of the deceased. However, the investigation is still going on.

The CBI has seen the forensic report. The investigation so far has revealed that Sanjay Roy raped and then murdered the victim, that is, only one person has been found involved in the rape and murder case so far and DNA findings have also confirmed Sanjay Roy’s involvement. The CBI has also seen CCTV footage, which indicates that the crime was committed by Sanjay Roy. The CBI has also analyzed the autopsy report.

The CBI investigation so far has revealed that this is a case of rape and murder and not gangrape. However, the CBI has not yet completed its investigation on the theory of involvement of other people and gangrape. The CBI can take the help of independent forensic report experts to get a final opinion on this.

Will CBI arrest Sandip Ghosh?

The CBI investigation has revealed that the dismissed principal Sandip Ghosh has committed lapses in this case. The CBI has found evidence that the crime scene was also tampered with. The CBI has admitted that the hospital authorities have also failed to handle the case with sensitivity.

Moreover, the CBI believes that despite knowing all the protocols in such cases, the hospital authorities, especially the dismissed principal Dr Sandip Ghosh, failed to fully secure the crime scene. The then principal of the college, Sandip Ghosh, did not act proactively even after being informed about the murder.

The renovation work going on in the hospital is also under the purview of the CBI investigation. Sandeep Ghosh is being questioned on this basis. The delay in filing the FIR is also under the purview of the CBI investigation. Apart from this, the CBI is also investigating the time limit given by the Kolkata Police.
