In Chhattisgarh’s Durg, two bullion traders stole their friend’s gold worth Rs 50 lakh. This gold was kept in a scooter. When the accused got a clue, they stole the scooter. When the police received a complaint about this matter, they registered a case and traced the accused. The police arrested two accused and seized 9 biscuits of 750 grams of gold from their possession.

Durg SP Jitendra Shukla said that Sagar Himmat Jare, a resident of Vaishali Nagar, had lodged a complaint in Supela police station on July 25 that his scooty had been stolen. Gold worth Rs 50 lakh was kept in the scooty’s trunk. After receiving this complaint, the police investigated the matter and found out the truth.

The victim told the police that he works as a gold smelter at JBR refinery in Durg. On July 25, he took gold from his shop, put it in the trunk of his scooty and left at 9 pm. After this, he parked the scooty in front of Ansari Biryani shop in Supela market. When he came out after eating food, he saw that the scooty was missing.

The SP directed the Crime Branch and the Supela police team to take action in this case. The police inspected the crime scene and scanned the CCTV footage installed on the roads. The CCTV revealed that two people had arrived at the scene on a bike. Those people were wearing raincoats. Those two stole the scooter.

During investigation, the police found out that the incident was carried out by 45-year-old Naresh Soni and 38-year-old Anand Soni. The police arrested one of the accused, but the second accused had gone to Sehore in Madhya Pradesh to perform Rudrabhishek after the incident. As soon as he returned, the police arrested him too.

The SP said that a scooty was stolen in the Supela police station area on July 25 at 9 pm, in whose complaint the victim had said that about 750 grams of gold was kept in the scooty. After the complaint, the police investigated and arrested two accused. 750 grams of gold, which was worth Rs 49 to 50 lakh, has been seized from them.
