‘There is no Chief Minister like Yogi’, is this the reason behind praising Deputy CM Keshav Maurya?

On Sunday, UP Deputy CM Keshav Maurya gave a statement while addressing the workers in Majhwa of Mirzapur. He suddenly praised Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in a way which no one had expected. Keshav Maurya said that there is no Prime Minister like Prime Minister Modi in the world and there is no Chief Minister like Yogi in the country.

After this statement given among the workers, there is a discussion going on whether the differences between Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Keshav Maurya have ended? Is everything alright between the two now? And what happened that suddenly Keshav Maurya praised Yogi. Is this a change of heart or a part of strategy?

It is believed that the reason behind this praiseworthy statement is the by-elections to be held in 10 assembly constituencies in Uttar Pradesh. Although the responsibility of winning all the ten seats lies with both Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Keshav Maurya, both have been given the responsibility of winning two seats each. The Chief Minister is responsible for Milkipur and Katehari, while Keshav Maurya is responsible for Majhawan and Phulpur.

Actually, behind this statement of Keshav Maurya, it is believed that BJP has advised both the leaders to end the dispute and differences and not to take it further. It is being told that such a message has also been sent that both should be seen with one voice and on one page. However, many people within the party also believe that elections cannot be won by angering anyone. In such a situation, the party’s strategy in Majhawan, Phulpur, Milkipur and Kathari is that no line is drawn within the party regarding OBC and upper caste. It should not happen that the talks and statements of differences between Keshav Maurya and Yogi Adityanath become heavy on the party.

What did Maurya say?

In his address, Keshav Prasad Maurya praised Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. While listing the achievements of the central and state governments, he said, ‘There is a BJP government in the country as well as in the state. You also know and believe that our double engine government is doing the best work in the history of independent India. Is there any other leader like PM Modi in the world… and is there any other Chief Minister like Yogi Adityanath in the country? The most powerful and influential leader in the world is our PM Modi and when all the Chief Ministers in the country are compared, the best work is being done under the leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath.’

BJP had to suffer losses in Lok Sabha

In the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections 2024, the BJP was reduced to half the seats in Uttar Pradesh as compared to 2014 and 2019. After this, there was a dispute between the state BJP government and the party organization over fixing the responsibility for the defeat. In the UP BJP executive meeting held in Lucknow, Keshav Prasad Maurya had said in front of BJP national president JP Nadda that the organization is bigger than the government. This was considered a target on CM Yogi in a way. After this, many BJP MLAs and ministers had complained that the party workers are being neglected at the government level, due to which there is resentment among them.
