Rahul Gandhi on Agniveer Ajay Kumar: Amidst the debate over Agniveer, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has once again cornered the government. He released a new video and claimed that the government did not give any compensation to the family of martyred Agniveer Ajay Kumar of Punjab and the family has received the insurance amount. Rahul Gandhi said that there is a difference between compensation and insurance and the martyr’s family has been paid only by the insurance company.

Rahul Gandhi alleged in the video that the family of martyr Ajay Kumar did not get the assistance that the government should have given. The family of every martyr who sacrifices his life for the country should be respected, but the Modi government is discriminating against them.

It is a matter of national security, I will keep raising it

Rahul Gandhi said in the released video that no matter what the government says, this is a matter of national security and I will keep raising it. He said that the India Alliance will never let the army weaken. Let us tell you, even before this, Rahul Gandhi had claimed that Agniveer Ajay Kumar did not get compensation, which was rejected by the army. The army on Wednesday rejected the claims made in a social media post that compensation was not paid to the family of Agniveer Ajay Kumar who lost his life during duty. The army had said that out of the amount payable to the family, Rs 98.39 lakh has already been paid. It said in the clarification that the total amount would be around Rs 1.65 crore.

There was an attack on Rajnath Singh

The clarification from the Army came after Rahul Gandhi shared a video of Ajay’s father on Twitter in which he allegedly said that he had not received any money. Gandhi had on Wednesday alleged that Defence Minister Rajnath Singh lied inside Parliament about financial assistance being provided to Agniveer’s family in case of his death. He had said that Singh should apologise to Parliament, the country and the Army.
