The woman who fed corn to the Chief Minister has been without electricity for a month now and is also desperate for a tap connection

The case of cutting off the electricity connection of the house of the woman who came into the news last month for feeding corn to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav in Indore is in the headlines. The woman said in her complaint that the electricity of her house was cut off 25 days ago, due to which she and her family have to live in darkness.

Suman Patidar (65), a street vendor with corn cobs in the city’s Aerodrome area, attended the administration’s weekly “public hearing” to complain that the electricity connection to her house in Ramchandra Nagar had been cut off.

The victim Suman Patidar said that ever since she fed corn to the Chief Minister, the electricity supply to her house has been cut off and she has been facing many problems. Suman, who reached Indore Collector’s office for the public hearing on Tuesday, narrated her ordeal.

According to Collector Ashish Singh, the electricity was cut due to personal issues of the woman’s landlord. The collector also sent the woman home after giving her a positive assurance.

The woman also said that even after living in the city for the last 35 years, she is still yearning for a single tap connection and despite the assurance of help by the Chief Minister himself, the local officials and leaders are not listening to her.

The woman said while crying, when Chief Minister Mohan Yadav came to eat corn on my cart last month, he had asked the officials to help me, but 25 days ago the electricity connection of my house was cut off and the officials of the electricity distribution company also took away the meter. Since then I and my family members are forced to live in darkness. She also demanded tap connection from Indore Municipal Corporation.

Suman Patidar said, I have been living in Indore for the last 35 years. My husband and one son have died. I want water and electricity. I am being harassed for demanding basic facilities and being asked if I am a resident of this city? Watch Video:-

Collector Ashish Singh said that the problems of the woman will be resolved as per the proper procedure.

A spokesperson of the Madhya Pradesh West Zone Electricity Distribution Company said that the electricity connection of the house in which Patidar is living is in the name of one Ashish Soni and the connection was disconnected on Soni’s application.

The spokesperson said that based on the woman’s complaint in the ‘public hearing’, this electricity connection has been restored for a few days. He said that the issue of electricity connection will be resolved by coordinating between Soni and Patidar.
