Vice President’s hopeful governor Tim WalzToday’s rally will be postponed due to the Davis Fire in the Washoe Valley.

The Davis fire started on September 7. It has burned 6,500 acres south of Reno as of Sunday. Walz was scheduled to hold a rally on the evening of September 9 — the night before the highly anticipated presidential debate in the middle of nowhere. Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump.

“As crews continue to work around the clock to contain the Davis Fire in northern Nevada, the Harris-Walz campaign is postponing Governor Tim Walz’s scheduled rally in Reno on Monday, September 9th,” the campaign said in a statement.

“We will continue to work with federal, state and local partners to monitor the situation, and we urge affected communities to heed the evacuation and safety guidance of local officials.”

Although the pre-planned rally was postponed, Walz was still scheduled to come to Reno and hold a campaign event. Las Vegas’ KRNV said his plane was scheduled to land at 2:45 p.m. and Walz was scheduled to fly to Las Vegas in the morning. It is currently unconfirmed where Walz will be staying when he is in Nevada.
