The rape victim was chased and beaten in the court campus, the accused threatened her to withdraw the case

In Muzaffarpur, the rape victim was chased and beaten by the accused in the court premises. During the beating, the victim fell on the road and kept pleading for mercy from the accused. But the accused did not listen to her and kept showering punches and kicks on her. When the victim’s family members came to intervene, the accused pushed them too.

When the police personnel present there got information about the fight in the court premises, they reached the spot. As soon as they reached there, the accused who attacked fled from there. The victim kept crying in pain. After this, with the help of the people around, the family admitted the victim to Sadar Hospital. After getting her treated there, the family took her home.

According to the victim’s mother, she has injuries on her stomach, waist, back, head and hands. The injuries were so severe that she was groaning in pain even in the Sadar Hospital. The police has said that even if the victim does not complain, the police will take action at their own level. The City SP has instructed the Town Police Officer to investigate and take action.

The victim said that talks were going on for her marriage with the accused youth from Motipur. Meanwhile, for some reason, her parents did not agree for the marriage. After this, the accused youth raped her. The victim had lodged an FIR in the city police station regarding this. The case is going on in the court.

The accused threaten to take up the case
She told that the accused’s bail was rejected last year. Since then all the accused were angry and upset with her. The victim further told that on 17th July also her family members were beaten up by the accused in the court premises. An FIR was also registered in the city police station regarding this.

The victim had arrived on the date of the case
The victim’s case was scheduled for Monday as well. She had reached the court. After completing the court proceedings, she was going home with her family. At that time, some youths reached there and started threatening the victim to withdraw the case. They also threatened to kill her if the woman did not agree. After this, in anger, they carried out the incident of assault.

Police will take action even if no complaint is made
Regarding the assault on the woman in the court premises, City SP Awadhesh Dixit said that the matter of beating of the woman in the court has come to notice. So far the victim has not made any complaint. If the victim complains, then on that basis, even if she does not complain, the police will take action at its own level. This is a very serious matter.
