The process of finding dead bodies in Wayanad is not ending, death toll rises to 167; Rahul-Priyanka will visit tomorrow

Wayanad landslide news: There is a scene of devastation after the landslide in Wayanad, Kerala. Three days have passed since the incident, but the process of finding dead bodies has not ended yet. The number of people who lost their lives in the Wayanad landslide is increasing and so far 167 bodies have been recovered. Hundreds of people are injured in this natural disaster and about 191 people are reported missing. According to the Kerala government, more than 200 people have been admitted to hospitals and 5,592 people have been rescued from the landslide affected areas so far.

At the same time, NDRF, Army and Navy personnel are deployed to search for the missing people and rescue operation of the landslide victims. The central government said that NDRF and police teams are present on the spot. People are being evacuated with the help of helicopters. The Navy’s river crossing team is also present on the spot. 1200 rescue workers of the Indian Navy and Indian Air Force have been deployed at the site.

Home Ministry is monitoring 24 hours

The central government said that the army’s dog squad has also been deployed in the rescue and search operation. Apart from this, two contingents of Army’s DC Central Kannur have also been deployed. Two contingents of Trivandrum’s 91 Infantry Brigade have been dispatched. Two helicopters of the Indian Army and one Navy helicopter are specially engaged in the rescue operation. The army’s medical team is also present at the spot and is providing medical treatment to the injured. At the same time, the Indian Navy ship has been deployed to provide rescue and land movement on the other side of the damaged bridge. Additional resources are being sent to the affected areas. Both the control rooms of the Home Ministry are monitoring for 24 hours and every possible help is being provided to the state. On July 31, an amount of Rs 145 crore has been provided to the state government from the State Disaster Response Fund.

Rahul-Priyanka will visit Wayanad

Meanwhile, there is news that Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi will visit Wayanad on Thursday. Sources said that Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi will meet the families affected by the landslide. Earlier both the leaders were going to visit Wayanad on Wednesday, but due to bad weather they had to postpone their program.
