Telangana: All India Rashtra Samiti (BRS) suffered another setback on Saturday. Another MLA of the party joined the Congress. A day before this, six members of the Legislative Council of BRS joined the Congress.

MLA from Gadwal Assembly constituency Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy joined Congress in the presence of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. The Chief Minister welcomed the MLA into the party. Krishna Mohan has been elected from Gadwal Assembly constituency of CM Revanth Reddy’s home district Mahbubnagar.

How many MLAs have left till now?

Krishna Mohan is the seventh MLA of BRS, which lost power to Congress in December last year, to join the ruling party. Now BRS has 31 MLAs left in the 119-member assembly. The number of Congress party MLAs has now increased to 72. In seven months, many senior leaders of BRS, the main opposition party in the state, have left the party.
