‘The nation will achieve complete glory’, said President Draupadi Murmu on the eve of Independence Day

President Draupadi Murmu addressed the nation on the eve of Independence Day. She paid tribute to the freedom fighters. She said that Mahatma Gandhi worked to unite the country. During her address to the nation, the President discussed the sacrifices made by freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad and Sukhdev.

The President said that the country will achieve complete glory. He said, “I am very happy to see that all the countrymen are preparing to celebrate the 78th Independence Day. Seeing the tricolor fluttering on the occasion of Independence Day – whether it is at the Red Fort, in the state capitals or around us – fills our hearts with enthusiasm.”

‘The country is celebrating Partition Horror Remembrance Day’

President Murmu said, “Today, on 14 August, our country is observing Partition Horrors Remembrance Day. It is a day to remember the horrors of Partition. When our great nation was divided, millions of people were forced to flee and countless lives were lost. On the eve of Independence Day, we remember this unprecedented human tragedy and stand united with the families who were torn apart.”

Mentioned giving free ration to 80 crore people

President Draupadi Murmu said that just as we celebrate various festivals with our family, similarly we celebrate our Independence Day and Republic Day with our family whose members are all our countrymen. We are part of that tradition which links the dreams of the freedom fighters and the aspirations of those future generations who will see our nation regaining its full glory in the years to come.”

President Murmu said that several government schemes have uplifted the economically weaker sections and provided free ration and facilities to 80 crore people. President Murmu said that the government has launched several schemes for women empowerment and is working towards expanding ‘Nari Shakti’ across the country.
