Akhilesh Yadav targeted Modi Yogi

Akhilesh Yadav Criticism of Modi-Yogi: Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday quipped that “they are unable to remove the one who defeated them”, in an apparent reference to the alleged internal tussle in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Participating in the discussion on the Union Budget in the Lok Sabha, Yadav also claimed that the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a “government that will not run, but will fall” and that it is running on the basis of a “cycle”.

Why did Akhilesh take a dig by mentioning the bicycle?

Cycle is the election symbol of Samajwadi Party as well as Telugu Desam Party (TDP). TDP is the main constituent party in the current government. Citing a video of the meeting of the Chief Ministers of BJP ruled states with the Prime Minister, the SP chief quipped, ‘Ever since we lost in Uttar Pradesh, no one is saying namaste. Have you seen that video, no one is saying namaste to anyone, no one is looking at anyone.’

You are unable to remove the person who defeated you: Akhilesh

Akhilesh Yadav, while indirectly referring to the Prime Minister during a spat with BJP MP Anurag Thakur, said in the House, “You used to call yourself powerful, but you are not able to remove the person who defeated you (in the Lok Sabha elections).” He claimed that the government at the Centre is not a government that will last, but a government that will fall.

The SP president quipped, ‘It is the cycle that is running your government. The day the cycle is removed, how will you run the government.’ He said that this is the 11th budget of the Modi government, but still there is no hope. The SP leader quipped, ‘The happiness that should have been visible after the formation of the government is also not visible.’ He alleged that there is nothing for the youth, unemployed and villages in the budget and nothing has been done to control inflation.

Government surrounded on the issue of jobs and railway accidents

Akhilesh Yadav said, ‘If everything has been so good in 10 years, then where do you stand in the hunger index? You showed the biggest dream of ‘Make in India’. Uttar Pradesh did not get any big project, we only got the Prime Minister.’ He claimed that the dream was also shown that if privatization happens, then jobs will be available, but jobs kept decreasing.

The SP leader said that the election results of Uttar Pradesh show how much work this government has done. Referring to the railway accidents, he said, ‘I have heard the news of another railway accident. Ever since this government has come, there is a competition between railway accidents and paper leaks as to who will go ahead.’

Has the income of farmers doubled? Akhilesh’s question

Akhilesh Yadav asked, ‘The government used to say that it will double the income of farmers. It has been 11 years, has the income of farmers doubled? I hear many members (of the ruling party) saying that we are giving MSP. If you are giving MSP, then give a legal guarantee for it as well.’ Yadav said that big MoUs were signed for investment in Uttar Pradesh, but nothing is visible on the ground.

He also attacked the government over the ‘Agnipath’ scheme and said that the day SP comes to power at the centre, it will be abolished. He said that this scheme is not acceptable to the socialists at all.
