The first suspected case of monkeypox surfaced, the patient was isolated in the hospital

The Health Ministry recently said in a statement that a person who returned from abroad has been isolated in the hospital on suspicion of monkeypox (ampox) virus. According to the ministry, the person’s condition is currently stable and his samples are being tested to confirm the monkeypox virus.

The Health Ministry said that the case is being managed as per prescribed protocols and contact tracing is also being carried out to identify the possible source and assess the further impact of the case.

Health Ministry said it is not surprising

The ministry said that there is no need for “extra concern” about this matter as the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) is looking into the matter. The Health Ministry also informed that the country is prepared to deal with such travel-related cases. Also, a tracing channel has been established to identify such cases.

World Health Organization (WHO) alert

It is worth noting that the World Health Organization (WHO) has identified the recent virus outbreak as a public health emergency of international concern. The organization did this on August 14. The health organization has announced this when a new variant of this virus was recently identified.

The Health Ministry has said that there is a need to spread awareness among the public about this new case of monkeypox in the country and to strengthen health services. All the concerned departments and agencies are on alert and the situation is being closely monitored.
