In Assam’s Sonitpur district, the police have recovered a huge cache of weapons and ammunition buried in a village. Seeing this, everyone panicked. But later the police said that this cache belonged to the militant organization National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB).

Giving information in this matter on Monday, a top police official of Assam Police told PTI that the death material was buried in Bilasigudi-Batasapur village when the militant group National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) was active.

In a post on Twitter, DGP GP Singh said five Chinese-origin hand grenades, five handmade grenades, one pistol, one revolver and five detonators were recovered from the land of Bilasigudi-Batasapur village.

The DGP said a huge cache of arms and ammunition was recovered on Monday morning from Bilasigudi-Batasapur village under Dhekiajuli police station in Sonitpur district, where these were hidden underground during the NDFB days.

Let us tell you that the militant organization NDFB was dissolved in the year 2020 after signing a peace agreement with the government. Now this organization has no existence.
