budget session 2024, The central government and the opposition have started their political preparations for the first budget session of the Lok Sabha starting on Monday. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will take forward the government’s financial agenda by presenting the general budget in the Lok Sabha on July 23. The opposition India Alliance has also prepared a plan to raise more than half a dozen major issues for the session. Meanwhile, according to information received from sources, a meeting of the Congress Parliamentary Party is likely to be held on Monday under the chairmanship of CPP President Sonia Gandhi to prepare a strategy for the upcoming budget session. This meeting will be held at Sonia Gandhi’s residence.

Meanwhile, an all-party meeting will be held today at 11 am in the Main Committee Room, Parliament House Annexe, New Delhi. The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs said in a press release that Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju will hold a meeting with the leaders of political parties in both the Houses of Parliament. Congress Party’s Deputy Leader in Lok Sabha Gaurav Gogoi and Deputy Leader in Rajya Sabha Pramod Tiwari will also attend the all-party meeting on Sunday.

The Budget Session of Parliament will begin on July 22 and subject to the exigencies of government business, the session may end on August 12. The Congress fought the election as part of the India Bloc along with other parties and was successful in preventing the BJP from securing a majority on its own in the Lok Sabha. The BJP-led NDA won 293 seats in the elections. The BJP will get 240 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha election, while the Congress has registered a strong improvement by winning 99 seats. The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance won 293 seats, while the India Bloc crossed the 230 mark, giving a tough fight and defying all predictions.
