‘The aim of Agneepath is to make the army young, those who do politics on this…’, PM Modi lashed out at the opposition

On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Drass sector of Ladakh and paid tribute to the brave martyrs. During this, he addressed the soldiers and also attacked the neighboring country Pakistan. Not only this, he also targeted the opposition regarding the questions being raised about the Agneepath scheme of the army.

Praising the army for the modern reforms in the army, PM Modi said that I want to appreciate the Indian Armed Forces for the reforms in the defense sector. Referring to the Agneepath scheme, PM Modi said that our forces have taken many bold decisions in the past years. Agneepath scheme is also an example of the necessary reforms done by the army. For decades, discussions have been going on in Parliament and many committees on making the army young.

The average age of the army is higher than the global average
He said, ‘The average age of Indian soldiers being more than the global average has been a cause of concern for all of us. Therefore, this issue was raised in many committees for years, but the will to solve this challenge related to the security of the country was not shown earlier. Perhaps the mentality of some people was such that army means saluting the leaders, doing parades. For us, army means the faith of 140 crore countrymen, for us army means guarantee of peace of 140 crore countrymen, for us army means guarantee of security to the borders of the country. Through the Agneepath scheme, the country addressed this important dream..’

Told the purpose of Agnipath scheme
The Prime Minister said, ‘The aim of Agneepath is to make the army young, the aim of Agneepath is to keep the army constantly fit for war. Unfortunately, some people have made such a sensitive issue related to national security a matter of politics. Some people do politics of lies for their personal gain even in this army reform. These are the same people who weakened our forces by committing scams worth thousands of crores in the forces. These are the same people who wanted the Air Force to never get modern fighter jets. These are the same people who had made preparations to box up the Tejas fighter plane.’

Will I be abused today for what happened 30 years later- Modi
PM Modi said that the truth is that the Agneepath scheme will increase the strength of the country and the capable youth of the country will also come forward to protect the motherland. Priority has also been announced for Agniveers in the private sector and paramilitary forces. PM said, ‘I am surprised, what has happened to the understanding and thinking of some people. They are spreading the illusion that the government has come up with this scheme to save pension money. I feel ashamed of the thinking of such people, but I want to ask such people that someone please tell me that the person who will be recruited today in Modi’s rule, should he be given pension today itself? The time to give him pension will come after 30 years and by then Modi will be 105 years old. And then there will be no Modi government. When Modi will be 105 years old, is Modi such a politician who will be abused for that today? What argument are you giving.’

Bone-chilling cold.. yet the Indian soldiers kept standing firm, this is the saga of bravery on Kargil Vijay Diwas

For me country is first and foremost

PM Modi said that for me, country is more important than party. I want to say proudly that we have respected this decision taken by the armed forces. We work for national policy, not for politics.’ PM said, ‘For us, national security is more important, for us peace of 140 crore people comes first. History of those who are misleading the youth of the country is a witness that they do not care about the soldiers, these are the same people who lied about One Rank-One Pension by showing a meagre amount of 500 crores. It is our government that implemented One Rank One Pension. Ex-servicemen were given more than 1.25 lakh crores. Where is 500 crores and where is 1.25 lakh crores. Such a big lie…’
