Agniveer Scheme , The opposition is continuously cornering the government on the Army’s Agniveer scheme. Now Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has targeted the government. The MP from Thiruvananthapuram said that the government has created such a situation where the soldier will get only six months of training and will remain in service for three to four years. By doing this, it is weakening the quality of training. Along with this, it is also reducing the professional opportunities available in the army.

This will lower the level of training: Tharoor

The Congress leader said on Friday, ‘The professional reputation of the Indian Army is very high across the world. It is considered one of the best professional armies in the world. There is a need to maintain this capability. But when you make arrangements for six months of training and three to four years of service, then you reduce the professional opportunities available in the Indian Army and reduce the quality of training.’

Congress will end it when it comes to power- Congress MP

Tharoor said that this is going to cause a lot of harm. Is the government going to save the expenditure on pensions through this? If this is so then the stand of Congress is right. When Congress comes to power, it will end this scheme. Let us tell you that on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas in Dras, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised this scheme and said that the purpose of Agniveer Yojana is to keep the army young and always fit for war. He said that the demand for reform in the army was being made for a long time.

Pak has not learnt anything from the past: PM

Addressing a ceremony organised at the Kargil memorial in Drass, the PM said that in the 1999 war, lies and terrorism were forced to kneel in front of truth. He said that Pakistan has not learnt anything from its past. He said, ‘Today I am speaking from a place where the masters of terrorism can hear my voice directly. I want to tell the patrons of terrorism that their evil designs will never succeed.’ Condemning terrorism, Modi said that Pakistan has always faced defeat in the past. He also said that the evil designs of terrorists will never succeed.
