Terror of man-eating wolves in Bahraich… 7 children have been killed so far, chaos in the area, BJP MLA goes on patrol with a rifle

The terror of man-eating wolves continues in Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh. Within a month, wolves have killed more than half a dozen people. People are in panic due to the deaths happening one after another in the area. Along with the police, administration, forest department, now BJP MLAs are also seen taking charge. He himself was seen patrolling with the villagers at night with a rifle. At present, 20 teams of the forest department are engaged in catching the man-eating wolves.

But fooling all of them, last night the cannibal attacked 65-year-old Rita Devi and killed her. Although the family members took the woman to the hospital, it was too late by then. The doctors declared her dead. On receiving the news of the incident, BJP MLA Sureshvar Singh reached the spot with his licensed rifle and his team and tried to identify the footprints of the wolf.

The whole matter is of Mahsi tehsil, where the terror of man-eating wolves has been prevailing for the past 30-35 days. According to the villagers, man-eating wolves have devoured seven children. But, the Bahraich forest department is saying that the number of incidents is five and is also talking about catching these wolves soon.

To deal with the wolves, 20 teams from five forest divisions of UP, Bahraich, Katarniaghat Wildlife, Shravasti, Gonda and Barabanki are patrolling day and night. The man-eaters are being monitored using drone cameras. Meanwhile, a drone camera has captured the picture of several wolves running away.

According to DFO Ajit Singh, cages have been installed at the entry points of the villages. The efforts of the forest department are proving insufficient and the terror of wolves remains the same. Villagers said that during the last 35 days, 7 innocent people including a woman have become prey to these animals. The entire area is scared of these animals. Villagers of about two dozen villages of Mahsi area are staying awake all night to protect their children from man-eating animals.

BJP MLA went out for security with a rifle

Amidst the continuous incidents, BJP MLA Sureshvar Singh is visiting the affected areas at night with his licensed rifle to protect the people and to remove the fear of man-eating wolves. The MLA and the administration are meeting the villagers and telling them ways to be cautious and save their families. However, during this time the BJP MLA also raised questions on the death of a girl and said that this was different from other deaths. He has expressed the fear of something untoward. The MLA also scolded the local outpost in-charge while raising questions on the working style.

MLA Sureshwar Singh is meeting the villagers with his licensed gun at night and encouraging them. He himself is visiting the man-eating wolf-infested areas at night and is also meeting the distressed people. The MLA is also telling them the ways to protect themselves from man-eating wolves.

On the other hand, DPRO Raghavendra Dwivedi said on this whole matter, people of this area often sleep outside their houses. In such a situation, there is a possibility of such incidents. People are being appealed to sleep inside the house with their children. The matter is being monitored. The forest department is also continuously engaged. The district administration is trying to provide housing and toilets to the people of this area whose families have been separated so that people do not have to defecate in the open.

What is the situation in Mahsi area?

It is worth noting that for the last 35 days, there has been terror of man-eating wolves in two dozen villages of Hardi police station area under Mahsi tehsil area. According to the local people, so far the wolf has picked up and eaten seven children. Bahraich DFO Ajit Pratap Singh is talking about five children being killed. The entire area is shaken by these incidents. The villagers are guarding with sticks all night to save their children.

District administration engaged in spreading awareness

District DM Monica Rani has made extensive arrangements to spread public awareness in the affected areas. For this, she has formed a team under the leadership of district level officials, who are camping in the affected areas along with panchayat workers and informing people to be alert about such incidents. To take awareness to a wider level, announcements are being made through loudspeakers in every village. Strict orders have been issued for uninterrupted power supply in such areas. District DPRO Raghavendra Dwivedi and Mahsi area BDO Hemant Yadav are continuously camping in this area.
