Telangana High Court orders demolition of the farmhouse where Revanth Reddy was arrested

The Telangana High Court has dismissed a petition filed by real estate agent Pradeep Reddy Badavelu, who had sought to stop the demolition of a farmhouse located in Janawada. The property, which falls under the controversial GO 111, has been the subject of a legal challenge. The court has now directed HYDRAA to carry out demolition proceedings in accordance with GO 99. It has also reviewed the documents submitted related to the property.

In fact, Pradeep Reddy, who claimed ownership of the farmhouse, had approached the High Court seeking an order to stop any demolition activity by HYDRAA on his property. He had argued that the farmhouse located in the area governed by GO 111 should be exempted from such actions.

The decision comes after an earlier controversy involving Revanth Reddy, who was arrested by the Cyberabad police in 2020. The then Malkajgiri MP was detained and put on judicial remand for 14 days for allegedly violating privacy laws by taking photographs and filming a farmhouse in Janawada owned by KT Rama Rao.

Let us tell you that then Revanth Reddy had alleged that the construction of the farmhouse is ‘illegal’ because it has been built on the land purchased by threatening the landowners. He had described it as KT Rama Rao’s farmhouse. The farmhouse is spread over 25 acres and its built-up area is one lakh square feet. This farmhouse is located within the purview of GO 111 in which construction is not allowed.
