The Congress government in Telangana is going to provide free electricity to government schools. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has announced this. This decision of the Telangana government will benefit thousands of government schools and the children studying there. Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Friday said the state government will provide free electricity to about 30,000 government schools as part of measures to improve infrastructure. Addressing a convention of recently promoted teachers, he also said Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal won elections thrice because he improved government schools and provided quality education to the poor.

The government will pay the electricity bills of schools

He said the power supply was cut off by the energy department when the schools’ bills were not paid. “When farmers are given (free power) and the poor are given 200 units of free power, why can’t free power be provided to schools where Telangana’s future is being prepared. I have directed officials to provide free power to 30,000 schools in Telangana and the government will bear the cost,” he said.
