Tejpal’s wife Parminder Kaur said that the embassy has asked for the DNA report of her husband’s mother so that the body can be identified. She said, till now no information has been given by the Indian embassy in Moscow about my husband’s body. Only the DNA report has been asked for. In this regard, the local police came to the house and took Tejpal’s files with them. The family members have been called for a meeting on Monday to give further information.
The news of the death was not given to the family for three months
Tejpal’s wife Parminder Kaur said that we were not even aware of Tejpal’s death for three months. But, on June 9, the family came to know about Tejpal’s death. He died about five months ago. Our children just kept waiting to talk to their father on video call. At the same time, Tejpal’s mother raised questions on the government and said, I want to perform the last rites of my son. If our governments were good, then my son would not have died by going abroad today.

Tejpal Singh went to Russia in January this year. After some time he joined the Russian army and was martyred during the war in Ukraine. Tejpal died in March itself, but the family got the news of his death on 9 June.
