Taylor Swift sits apart from Brittany Mahomes at Chiefs game amid Trump endorsement controversy

taylor swift and Brittany Mahomes Both cheered for the Kansas City Chiefs in their 27-20 opening night win over the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday, but they may have differed on other issues.

Swift and Mahomes were spotted sitting in separate suites at Arrowhead Stadium Amid controversy surrounding Mahomes’ recent show of support for Donald Trump.

Mahomes and Swift had a history of sitting together in the suite after Swift began going to games last year after going public with her relationship with Travis Kelce. Seeing the two sit together while making strange gestures during broadcast cutaways became a common staple of Chiefs games last season.

The two were also seen together at public events as the friendship between Mahomes, the wife of quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and Swift, Kelce’s girlfriend of more than a year, became symbolic of the Chiefs expanding their fan base among women.

But the 2024 season is off to a different start as Mahomes has been embroiled in controversy in recent weeks for expressing support for Trump through Instagram activity. Swift was spotted in a suite with Kelce’s mother Donna KellsWhile Mahomes sat in the suite with her daughter, Sterling Skye, as seen in her Instagram stories.

Mahomes, a 29-year-old expectant mother, showed her support for Trump on Aug. 13 when she liked Trump’s Instagram post that outlined the “2024 GOP platform.”

This ignited a firestorm of backlash against the superstar quarterback’s wife. In fact, critics include Swift’s fans. Multiple fan pages dedicated to Swift posted screenshots of the likes on social media, spreading the reaction’s reach.

Mahomes responded to the criticism on his Instagram Stories on August 23.

“I mean honestly, to be a hater as an adult, you have to have some deep rooted issues that you refuse to heal from childhood,” she wrote. “There’s no reason your brain is fully developed and you hate to see others do well.”

She then posted another message regarding the situation on Instagram days later.

“Unlike the tone of the world today….you can disagree with someone, and still love them. You can have different opinions and still be kind,” she wrote on August 26. “Read that again!”

Last week she picked up two other comments, one saying “TRUMP-VANCE 2024” and another saying “Glad to see you’re not backing down. We’re all entitled to our own opinions and shouldn’t be bullied into submission.”

Mahomes’ Instagram likes and subsequent attention caught Trump’s attention. The former president and current presidential candidate thanked Mahomes in a post on her Truth social account, praising her and her husband, Kansas City Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes, as a “great couple.”

“I want to thank Sundar Brittany Mahomes For defending me so strongly, and the fact that MAGA is the greatest and most powerful political movement in the history of our currently failed country,” Trump wrote. “Crime and illegal immigration are completely out of control, inflation is ruining all Americans, And in a world that laughs at the stupidity of our hapless “leaders,” it’s nice to see someone who loves our country and wants to save it from doom. . What a great couple – see you at the Super Bowl!”

Nothing like Mahomes’ controversial Instagram seems to be driving a wedge between her and her husband. On August 31, Brittany’s 29th birthday, Patrick made a series of posts Photos on Instagram He and his wife, Brittany Mahomes, celebrated his 29th birthday on Saturday. The slideshow includes a group photo of him and his children, 3-year-old daughter Sterling Skye and 1-year-old son Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III.

After Trump was first elected in 2016, Swift made her political leanings public for the first time, endorsing Democratic candidates Phil Bredesen and Jim Cooper in the 2018 US midterm elections in her family’s home state of Tennessee.

Swift has also publicly supported abortion rights, LGBTQ inclusion, and gun control.

In 2020, Swift officially endorsed Joe Biden for president and condemned Trump’s presidency, calling him “racist” in the wake of the killing of George Floyd in Minnesota.
