Tape was pasted on the mouth of the Executive Engineer of Jal Nigam… then he was beaten to death

The incident took place in Vinobapuri locality of Kotwali Nagar.

In fact, on Saturday morning, unknown miscreants beat to death the Executive Engineer of Jal Nigam (Rural) living on rent in Vinobapuri locality of the city under Kotwali Nagar police station in his room and fled. The brutal murder of the engineer has created a stir in the area. At the same time, the police is interrogating the driver of the deceased, Sandeep.

Driver Sandeep told that he also lived with Saheb. In the morning he was sleeping when the engineer of the department called him several times. When he picked up the phone, he said that I am standing downstairs, you come down. When I reached downstairs, he sent me to bring curd and jalebi. When I came back, I saw that Saheb’s mouth was bandaged and some people were beating him.

Blood was flowing from his body. Seeing this I started screaming, then those people said that if you scream then they will kill you too. Then they threatened me to keep quiet and ran away. People nearby told that on hearing the screams of driver Sandeep, the guards posted at the Jal Nigam office 50 meters away and those people reached there. Then they took Santosh Kumar to the district hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Assistant Engineer of Jal Nigam Praveen Singh said that in the morning he got a call from driver Sandeep. He told that Sir come quickly and AE Sir is Amit, he has killed Sir. When I reached Sir’s house, I came to know that some people have killed Sir. When we took him to the hospital, he had already died.

SP Somen Verma said that this morning the body of Santosh Kumar, an executive engineer of Jal Nigam, who was living on rent in Vinobapuri locality, was found in his room. The family members of Santosh Kumar, a resident of Prayagraj, have been informed. Prima facie, the case seems to be of murder. Four police teams have been deployed to solve the case. So far, investigation has revealed the involvement of a departmental employee in the murder. The police is searching for the accused. The case will be solved soon.
