Sri Lanka ODI squad for India series: Under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav, the Indian team has defeated Sri Lanka in the T20 series in its own home. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka has announced its team for the 3-match ODI series against India. The Sri Lankan Cricket Board has made a big change in this.
The Sri Lankan board has removed Kusal Mendis from the captaincy of ODIs. In his place, Charith Asalanka has been given the responsibility as the regular captain. Asalanka is also leading the T20 series.

Let us tell you that Wanindu Hasaranga was the captain in the T20 World Cup 2024 held in June, but when the Sri Lankan team was out of the group stage, he resigned from the captaincy. After this, Aslanka was made the new T20 captain. Now he has been given the command in ODIs as well.
After becoming the regular captain, this was Aslanka’s first T20 series against India, in which he lost. With this series, Suryakumar Yadav has also taken charge of the Indian team as a regular captain. While this was also the first series for the new head coach Gautam Gambhir.
Rohit Sharma will be seen captaining in ODIs
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have retired from T20 International. But they will return to the ODI series. Rohit will return as captain. The first match of the 3-match ODI series between India and Sri Lanka will be played on August 2. After this, the last 2 ODI matches will be played on August 4 and 7. All these matches will be played in Colombo.
