Special boats will run between Ayodhya and Varanasi, know what the UP government is preparing for

The Uttar Pradesh government is going to expand the facilities of electric-based adventure water activities and boat rides in Ayodhya and Varanasi to promote religious tourism. The government is preparing to start operating four special electric boats in both the cities.

“Under the scheme, one air-conditioned electric boat with 50 seats and two electric boats with 30 seats will be operated from Nayaghat on river Saryu in Ayodhya. A 50-seater air-conditioned electric boat will soon be available for tourists at Ravidas Ghat on river Ganga in Varanasi,” an official statement said.

According to PTI, the government said that the state-of-the-art AC boats will have steel catamaran hulls, while the non-AC boats will have FRP catamaran hulls. There will be facilities for docking and charging these boats at the ghats, which will be managed by the Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation.

The boats will initially be operated under a 10-year lease, strictly following the guidelines laid down by the Department of Tourism, Inland Vessels Act and international standards. The boats will be operated as per the guidelines of the Adventure Tour Operators Association of India.
