So far 14 people have died in Kathmandu bus accident, a group of 104 people had come to Nepal from Maharashtra for a trip

A tragic bus accident took place in Aina Pahada of Tanahun district of Nepal. An Indian tourist bus fell into the Marsyangdi river about 150 meters below the highway. 14 people died in the accident, while 16 people have been rescued. There were 43 people on the bus, including the driver and conductor. The tourist bus was going from a resort in Pokhara to Kathmandu. The Indian Embassy said in a post on X that an Indian tourist bus going from Pokhara to Kathmandu, carrying about 43 Indians, fell into the river 150 meters below. The registration number of the bus was UP 53 FT 7623.

Regarding this accident, Girish Mahajan, a minister in the Maharashtra government, said that all the people who went on the Nepal trip were residents of Dharangaon area of ​​Bhusaval in Maharashtra. They had gone to Nepal for tourism purposes. All the people had left from Gorakhpur via buses.

He said that 3 buses left from Pokhara for Kathmandu. There were 104 people in them. One of these three buses fell into the Marsyangdi river. Rescue operation has been started immediately after the accident. Girish Mahajan said that the Maharashtra government is in touch with the concerned officials and embassy of Nepal. He said that Bhusaval MLA Sanjay Savkare and BJP district president Amol Javale have left for Nepal. They will go to Nepal and take care of the arrangements.

According to PTI, Armed Police Force (APF) Deputy SP Shailendra Thapa said that 14 bodies have been recovered from the accident site. 16 injured have been taken to a local hospital. The bus has been badly damaged.

According to local media, a MI 17 helicopter of the Nepal Army has left for the accident site at Ambu Khaireni in Tanahun district with a medical team for rescue.

Pokhara’s Gandaki Province Police Office said that 15 of the people rescued from the accident are able to speak. Due to the mountainous terrain, Nepal’s rivers usually flow fast. Heavy monsoon rains in the last few days have caused the rivers to overflow. This has made it even more difficult to see the debris.
