Sisodia is out of jail after 17 months, can he become deputy CM again? Know where the problem may arise

Former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia was released from jail on Friday evening. Manish Sisodia has come out of jail after 17 months. Now speculation has intensified in political circles about his possible return to the Delhi government as Deputy Chief Minister. This development has increased interest among the members and leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Many of the leaders believe that Sisodia should be reinstated as a minister without any delay. The supporters’ argument rests on Sisodia’s past track record and the current situation, as Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is still in jail. Supporters claim that Sisodia is a better choice to lead the government.

However, there are some technical hurdles due to which there is a problem in the immediate reappointment of Manish Sisodia. The most important thing is that the privilege of appointing ministers lies with the Chief Minister, since Kejriwal is still in jail, he is unable to sign the necessary documents, and hence cannot recommend the appointment of Manish Sisodia. This mandatory process itself is a big hurdle. Apart from this, the process of appointing a cabinet minister in Delhi is different from full-fledged states. In Delhi, the recommendation of the Chief Minister must be sent to the President of India through the LG Secretariat. The swearing-in ceremony of the new minister can take place only after the President’s consent.

Discussion intensifies over Sisodia’s role

With assembly elections due in Delhi in the next 6 months, there is a debate going on within the AAP over Sisodia’s role. Some suggest that his presence in the government is important, while others argue that he may be better suited for organisational responsibilities. Apart from this, the health of Sisodia and his wife is also a matter of great concern for party leaders.

Manish Sisodia will take the final decision

However, the final decision will have to be taken by Manish Sisodia whether he wants to rejoin the government this time or prefers to guide other ministers in their government duties. All eyes are now on Manish Sisodia, as both AAP and Delhiites are waiting for his decision.
