Siddhant spoke on the comments made on Ananya, told how PR game is harming Bollywood

Actor Siddhant Chaturvedi is ready for the release of his next film ‘Yudhra’. Siddhant Chaturvedi, who received a lot of praise for his debut performance in ‘Gully Boy’, had his last release ‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan’, in which his character was well-liked.

Recently, an old comment of Siddhant came into discussion again, which has already caused a lot of controversy. This comment has been used as a joke in Ananya Pandey’s new show ‘Call Me Bae’. Siddhant Chaturvedi, who is busy promoting ‘Yudhra’, has now talked about his comment on Ananya Pandey. He told what was his intention behind this comment.

‘People are starting to think I’m arrogant’
In a conversation with India Today, Siddhant said, ‘People have started considering me arrogant, especially after the statement I gave about Ananya Pandey at the Actors Roundtable. Honestly, this is not arrogance, it is just confidence. I think if you don’t speak up for yourself, it is difficult to survive in this industry.’

Siddharth says that if someone does not know his own value, then people in this industry keep putting a lot of pressure on him from time to time. He said, ‘Sometimes it becomes very important to keep your spine strong and some people may feel that I am belittling others or am over-confident but this is the fuel that drives me in life.’

Clearing the misconceptions about his image, Siddhant said that he does not come from a very strong family background and still lives with his family. He is very proud of all the love he has received but sometimes it becomes very important to say what one is feeling.

More PR noise than work
Citing the example of a Hollywood film, Siddhant said, ‘You cannot keep everything inside you because there are many power forces that are playing with your mind. Like ‘Dark Knight’, you cannot succeed in coming out of that chamber without cutting the supporting rope. I am also trying to get out of the pit by cutting that rope. I am still in the same pit and I can see the light and I feel that by doing this I will reach a little closer to the light.’

Talking about his work on the working of the industry, Siddhant said, ‘There are many market forces at work. There is so much PR happening that even I can understand it. Even if you play a strong character, someone else’s PR will be better than yours. This PR game going on these days is the one that is harming Bollywood.’

Siddhant believes that by appearing in many places and through PR, people are creating perceptions which have no weight. There is no credibility in this and that is why they do not want to do such work.

Siddhant said that he wants to bring both ‘trust and earnings’ through his work. He concludes by saying, ‘This is something that is very difficult, but I am trying. I am very ambitious.’
