‘Sholay’ writers Salim-Javed will come together for ‘one last film’, Javed Akhtar said ‘Our best dialogue will come now’

Cinema fans cannot forget the iconic writer duo Salim-Javed who created the explosive image of the ‘angry young man’ in the world of Hindi films. This duo has together written many great and wonderful films like Deewar, Zanjeer, Sholay, Kala Patthar and Trishul. That is why the breakup of this iconic duo in 1982 was like a heartbreak for Hindi film fans. But now this duo is going to come together once again.

Amazon Prime is bringing a new documentary on the iconic duo of Salim Javed and Javed Akhtar, named ‘Angry Young Men’. The trailer of this documentary was launched on Tuesday and at this event Javed Akhtar has made an announcement which is very exciting for any film fan.

Salim-Javed are coming together again
At the trailer launch of the documentary ‘Angry Young Men’, Javed Akhtar announced that he is going to work with his old partner Salim Khan once again. According to a report in Times of India, at the trailer launch, when the duo, who have given many iconic Bollywood dialogues, were asked which is their favorite dialogue from their films? Javed Akhtar said, ‘Ab Aayega Wo’. People got confused after hearing this.

Clearing this confusion, Javed sahab further said, ‘We are going to write again. I talked to Salim sahab that we should write one last film together.’ Present at the event, Salim Khan’s son, superstar Salman Khan reacted to this announcement and said, ‘The line starts from here.’

Bollywood’s most expensive writer duo
The Salim-Javed duo was the most expensive writer duo of Hindi films in their time. It was even said that in many films, their fees were more than the hero of the film.

Joking about his fees, Javed Akhtar said at the trailer launch of ‘Angry Young Men’ that he and Salim Khan used to charge more than the hero in the 70s. Now they will charge a hefty fee, people should know this. He said, ‘Even in those times our price was high, in this era it must be very high, you can see that.’

Let us tell you, Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar had decided to separate in 1982. The reason for this decision is still not clear. But some of the scripts written by them came on the big screen in the form of films even after their separation. The last film written by Salim-Javed which was released in theatres was Anil Kapoor’s ‘Mr. India’.

In the documentary ‘Angry Young Men’, we will see how this iconic writer duo of Hindi cinema decided to come together and how they wrote some of the most memorable films of Bollywood. This documentary showing the journey of this duo will stream on Amazon Prime from August 20.
