Sheikh Hasina’s top minister, who was trying to flee to India, was detained at the airport; a dozen Awami League leaders have left the country

Bangladesh is currently going through a period of immense instability. After the coup and Sheikh Hasina resigning from the post of Prime Minister and fleeing the country, her former cabinet ministers have started getting punished one by one. It is reported that former Bangladesh Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud has been taken into custody from Dhaka airport.

According to the report of Dhaka Tribune, Mahmud, who was the foreign minister in Sheikh Hasina’s government, is planning to leave Bangladesh. He was detained at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka. He had gone to take a flight to India. That’s when he was taken into custody.

Let us tell you that Mahmud had earlier also tried to go from Bangladesh to India by road but was not successful.

Even before the coup in Bangladesh, many top leaders and former cabinet ministers of Sheikh Hasina’s Awami League party had left the country. Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport Minister Abdul Quader fled the country on Sunday night. Along with this, Anisul Haque, who was a minister in Hasina’s government, had left the country and gone to an unknown place even before her resignation.

Junaid Ahmed, who was the Telecom Minister in Sheikh Hasina’s government, has also been detained. He was not allowed to leave the country. He was detained and handed over to the Air Force.

Sheikh Hasina’s investment advisor and MP Salman F. Rahman also fled the country on Sunday night. Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor and Hasina’s nephew Sheikh Fazal Noor Taposh is also said to have left on a flight to Singapore on Saturday morning. Along with this, Shamim Osman, who was a controversial MP in the Hasina government, also left the country last week.

Former Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury and Rural Development Minister Mohammad Tajul Islam have also left the country. According to sources, former Finance Minister Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali and Sports Minister Nazmul Hasan Papon have also left the country. Supreme Court judge Mohammad Badruzzaman has also left Bangladesh.

Let us tell you that Bangladesh is burning in the fire of violence. Sheikh Hasina, who has resigned and left the country, is currently in India. Her arch enemy Khaleda Zia can come out of jail any moment. Meanwhile, Khaleda’s party Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has urged to dissolve the Parliament immediately and form an interim government as soon as possible.
