‘She was making a lot of noise…’, two women locked a 1-year-old girl in the flight’s toilet

What two women did to a one-year-old girl on a flight in China was shocking. According to Shangyou News, on August 24, a one-year-old girl travelling with her grandparents on a flight from Guizhou in southwest China to Shanghai was crying continuously.

The girl was making noise in the flight

A female passenger sitting next to the girl told on social media that many passengers, fed up with the noise of the girl, tried to stop the noise by putting tissues in their ears. Some people even went to the rear part of the plane. I tried to calm the girl by showing her a video on mobile but she kept crying. The woman further told that after this, I and another female passenger took her to the toilet and locked her so that she could understand discipline. She also told that both of us women did not know each other.

The girl was threatened- ‘If you don’t keep quiet then…’

In the video shared with the post, two women can be seen threatening the child by saying that if she keeps crying, they will not take her back to her grandmother. In the video that went viral on Chinese social media, the child kept banging the toilet door and finally told the women “okay”. Then they took her to her seat and made her sit.

“I don’t just watch, I take action”

In the post, the woman further wrote- After this, she did not cry at all for the remaining two hours in the flight. I prefer to take action instead of just watching like other passengers. I thought that disciplining her would give everyone some relief.

Meanwhile, Juneyao Air told Shangyou News that the girl’s grandparents admitted they did not know how to handle the child and had allowed two strangers to teach the child discipline. On August 26, the company issued a statement saying it had contacted the girl’s mother, who said she had learned about the two passengers’ lewd actions. The incident soon made headlines on mainland social media, garnering 130 million views on Weibo.

‘Legal action should be taken’

One user wrote- I always wanted to scold those children who keep bothering me on the plane. These two women did what I could not do and it is very satisfying. At the same time, most people said- this was a very wrong way. Think, would you let your child get locked in the toilet with a stranger? Many people also talked about taking legal action against the women.
