‘She is equal to your daughter…’, when Dhankhar interrupted Kharge for calling Nirmala Mataji

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has presented the country’s budget for the year 2024-25 in Parliament. The budget is being discussed in both houses of Parliament. During the discussion in the Rajya Sabha, when the Congress President addressed the Finance Minister as ‘Mataji’, the Speaker of the House Jagdeep Dhankhar interrupted him. Dhankhar told the Leader of the Opposition in the Upper House that the Finance Minister is equal to your daughter.

Speaking on the budget, Congress President and Congress leader in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge said that except for two states, nothing was given to any other state. He said, everyone’s plate is empty and two have pakodas and jalebi in their plates. While counting the names of the states, Kharge said nothing was given to Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Odisha and Delhi. I have never seen such a budget. We criticize it.

We expected that we would get the highest budget: Kharge

He said that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman comes from Karnataka and we expected that we would get the highest budget, but this did not happen. We will criticize this. When Jagdeep Dhankhar interrupted him on this, he said, “I speak because she is an expert in speaking. Mataji is an expert in speaking.” On this, the Chairman interrupted Kharge and said that she is not Mataji but equal to your daughter.

If there is no balance then… Kharge

However, Kharge, refuting the Chairman’s statement, further said, “Wherever the opposition parties have been elected, wherever the public has rejected you, you have got nothing there. If you keep doing this, if there is no balance, then how will development happen? Today people are with you. Tomorrow people will be with others. This budget has been presented to please someone and to save the chair. Therefore, India Alliance will oppose this in the entire country.”
