Setback to BJP in Jammu and Kashmir, Samba district president left the party after not getting ticket

BJP has suffered a major setback before the elections in Jammu and Kashmir. District President of Samba district Kashmira Singh has left the party after not getting a ticket. BJP has fielded Surjeet Singh Salathia from Samba assembly seat. Kashmira Singh was not happy with this decision of the party.

At the same time, another senior BJP leader Chandra Mohan Sharma also left the party after not getting a ticket. It is said that Chandra Mohan was also angry due to not getting a ticket. According to the information, BJP’s Samba district president has resigned from the party on Saturday after not getting a ticket. Surjit Singh Salathia was earlier in the National Conference and joined the BJP after the abrogation of Article 370.

Elections will be held in three phases from September 18

Assembly elections will be held in Jammu and Kashmir for the first time after the removal of Article 370. Voting will be held in three phases in the Union Territory from September 18. The other two phases will be held on September 25 and October 1. Counting of votes will take place on October 4 along with Haryana.

In Jammu and Kashmir, voting will take place on 24 seats in the first phase, while in the second and third phases, elections will be held on 26 and 40 seats respectively. Earlier in 2014, assembly elections were held here in five phases.

There have been no assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir in the last decade and the Union Territory has been without an elected government for the last seven years since the fall of the Mehbooba Mufti-led PDP-BJP coalition government in 2018.
