Sawan Shivratri 2024: The festival of Sawan Shivratri is being celebrated today. Aarti of Lord Shiva must be performed on the day of Sawan Shivratri, it is said that doing so brings good fortune.

Method of worshiping Shivaratri (Shivratri Pujan Vidhi)
On the day of Shivratri, bathe the idol of Lord Shiva with Panchamrit. Then offer 8 buckets of saffron water. Light a lamp all night that day. Apply sandalwood tilak. Offer Bel Patra, Bhaang, Dhatura, sugarcane juice, Tulsi, nutmeg, lotus stalk, fruits, sweets, sweet betel leaves, perfume and alms. Finally offer saffron kheer and distribute prasad. Chant Om Namo Bhagwate Rudraya, Om Namah Shivaya Rudraya Shambhavay Bhavanipataye Namo Namah mantra. Recite Shiv Puran on this day. Ratri Jagran is also done on the day of Shivratri.
