Sarabjot Singh Paris Olympics 2024 Profile: 30th July was a historic day for India in the biggest Maha Kumbh of sports, i.e. Olympics. In the bronze medal match of 10 meter air pistol mixed team, Sarabjot Singh-Manu Bhaker Singh together won the bronze medal. This was India’s second medal in this Olympics. The special thing is that India has won both the medals in shooting only.

On the fourth day, once again Manu Bhaker played with Sarabjot Singh in the bronze medal match today (30 July) in the mixed team event, where she made a blast together with Sarabjot Singh. This was Sarabjot’s first Olympic medal. Manu Bhaker became the first Indian player to win two medals in the same Olympics. Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh won the bronze medal in the 10 meter air pistol mixed team event by defeating the mixed Korean pair of Oh Ye Jin and Lee Wonho. Both of them won the bronze medal by winning this tough match 16-10. Earlier, Manu Bhaker won the first medal for India by winning bronze in shooting.

Sarabjot has a connection with Haryana

22-year-old Sarabjot was born on 30 September 2001 in Ambala (Haryana). Sarabjot, who is participating in the Olympics for the first time, started shooting at the age of just 13. During the summer camp, Sarabjit saw some children shooting air guns at a temporary range, after which he decided to pursue this sport. After this, his journey in shooting began. Then he started training at the AR Academy of Shooting Sports in Ambala. Sarabjit considers his father Jitendra as his biggest role model. He gives the credit for his success to his friend Aditya Malra. Sarabjot says that Aditya has been with him since day one and has inspired him at every stage of his life.

Sarabjit won two medals in the Asian Shooting Championship 2023 held in Changwon, Korea. Then he won silver in 10m air pistol mixed team and bronze in men’s 10m air pistol. Due to this bronze, he was successful in securing a quota for India in the Paris Olympics.

Sarabjot won gold in the men’s 10m air pistol team event at the Hangzhou Asian Games last year. Then he also won a silver medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event on his birthday, which was a very memorable moment for him. Sarabjot also managed to win the gold medal in the men’s 10m air pistol during the 2023 World Cup held in Bhopal.

22-year-old Sarabjot has taken coaching from Samaresh Jung at the national level, who has been a veteran shooter. Abhishek Rana is his personal coach. In the year 2023, Sarabjot obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Arts from Punjab University. Sarabjot knows English, Hindi and Punjabi languages. Sarabjot’s goal is to improve himself further.

This is Sarabjot’s first Olympics
This is Sarabjot Singh’s first Olympics. He is a two-time medalist (silver – 10m air pistol mixed team, bronze – 10m air pistol) at the 2023 Asian Shooting Championships in Changwon, Republic of Korea. This individual bronze medal secured a quota place for India at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. He is a two-time medalist (gold – men’s 10m air pistol team, silver – 10m air pistol mixed team) at the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games. Apart from this, he is a gold medalist in 10m air pistol at the 2023 World Cup in Bhopal, India.

Unique achievement in the name of Manu Bhaker
Manu Bhaker became the first Indian to win two medals in the same Olympics after independence, creating history by defeating South Korea in the 10m air pistol mixed team category at the Paris Olympics along with Sarabjot Singh.

The Indian pair defeated Korea 16-10 to give the country its second medal in this Olympics. Earlier, Manu had won bronze in the women’s 10 meter air pistol event. British-born Indian player Norman Pritchard had won silver medals in 200 meter sprint and 200 meter hurdles in the 1900 Olympics, but that achievement was before independence.

India is incredibly happy.

For Manu, this is her second consecutive Olympic medal, reflecting her continued excellence and dedication.
