Protests are being held across the country against the rape-murder case that took place in Kolkata’s RG Kar Hospital. Questions are being raised continuously on the role of the former principal of the college, Sandeep Ghosh. The CBI has been questioning Sandeep Ghosh for 6 days. Meanwhile, Akhtar Ali, former Deputy Superintendent of RG Kar Hospital, has made several serious allegations against Sandeep Ghosh during an exclusive interview with Aaj Tak. Akhtar Ali has claimed that Sanjay Roy, the main accused in the brutality against the doctor, was involved in the security of former principal Sandeep Ghosh. He used to work as his bouncer.
‘Sandip Ghosh was involved in the racket of selling unclaimed bodies’
Akhtar Ali claimed that Sandeep Ghosh was involved in many illegal activities including selling unclaimed bodies of the hospital. He also alleged that Ghosh was involved in smuggling of biomedical waste and medical equipment to Bangladesh. He said that I had also complained about this to the Vigilance Committee. I was also a part of the investigation. But after giving the final report, I was transferred just two hours later. Even after the complaint, no action was taken against Sandeep Ghosh.
What is the connection between Sanjay Roy and Sandeep Ghosh?
Akhtar Ali said that after this brutality, when I saw Sanjay Roy, I remembered that this man was one of the four bouncers of Sandeep Ghosh. He said that I have seen him with Sandeep Ghosh. Calling the lapse in the hospital a conspiracy, Akhtar Ali said that when I was working there, no one was allowed to go near the seminar room or the nursing staff at night. There was security at every point. CCTV cameras were installed. But a volunteer enters the room at night and such a big incident happens. This is beyond comprehension. This could be a big conspiracy.
Sandeep Ghosh used to fail students for money
Akhtar Ali said that I worked in RG Kar Hospital from 2007 to 2023. I worked with many principals. But I have never seen a man as corrupt as Sandeep Ghosh. After his appointment in 2021, RG Kar Hospital was ruined. Sandeep Ghosh started failing students right after his appointment. So that he could earn money. Many times students have even staged protests against him. They have gone on hunger strike. But nothing ever happened to him.

Why did Sandeep Ghosh move around with so much security?
Akhtar Ali said that there were many people for his security. He had prepared a big racket. He is a person with a criminal mind. Such people have many kinds of fears. That is why he used to move around with so much security. Akhtar Ali said that RG Kar Hospital is more than 100 years old. It has a history of its own. But Sandeep Ghosh ruined it.
64 hours of interrogation so far
Let us tell you that Sandeep Ghosh is surrounded from all sides. The CBI team questioned Dr. Sandeep Ghosh for the sixth consecutive day on Wednesday. So far, Ghosh has been questioned for 64 hours. At the same time, Dr. Ghosh’s troubles have also increased in the new case related to financial irregularities. On Wednesday, he has to appear before the police and record his statement in the corruption case. In the hearing held in the Supreme Court on Tuesday, the Chief Justice had also raised questions on the role of Sandeep Ghosh.
