Sambhal: Two groups clashed during Kanwar Yatra, there was a fight over playing DJ, heavy kicking, punching and stone pelting

A fight broke out between Kanwariyas and villagers in Sambhal, UP, in which four to five people were injured. It is being told that the villagers had opposed the Kanwariyas playing DJ, after which an argument started. This argument turned into a fight in no time. Both sides kicked, punched, used sticks and threw stones. The police reached the spot after getting the information and somehow controlled the situation. The video of the fight is going viral on social media.

According to the information, a group of Kanwariyas was going to Haridwar through Sambhal district. A DJ was also included in this group. Some people of Govindpur village opposed the playing of DJ, on which the Kanwariyas got angry. The dispute between the two sides increased so much that the villagers and the Kanwariyas clashed and a fight broke out between them. 4-5 people including two Kanwariyas were injured in this.

On getting information about the dispute, Sadar Kotwali in-charge Pawan Kumar, CO Anuj Chaudhary and Additional SP Shrishchandra reached the spot with the police force. They somehow brought the situation under control. After which the Kanwar Yatra resumed smoothly. The incident created an atmosphere of chaos in the area.

On the basis of the videos that have surfaced, the police have started identifying the youths who tried to spoil the atmosphere by beating up the Kanwariyas. In this case, the Additional SP said that people were leaving to take Kanwar in Govindpur village of Sambhal Kotwali area. During this time, a dispute broke out between two parties of the same community.

After a minor altercation, some people from both the sides started fighting in which four people got injured. The injured have been medically examined and the Kanwariyas have been sent off safely.
