It is known that Vinod Kumar Shukla, born on 1 January 1937 in Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh, found such an affinity towards nature during his studies of agriculture that it further led to concern for the protection of nature and ultimately the protection of the human species. His good wish for a better life and society of humans is the basic tone of his creativity and also the central concern.
Vinod Kumar Shukla, who started his creative journey with the poetry collection ‘About Jai Hind’, has created a completely new aesthetic sense of poetry and prose through the poetry collections published in the book ‘That man has gone away’, ‘Wearing a new warm coat like a thought’, ‘Everything will remain to be, not in excess’, ‘The longest poem of the poem’, ‘The sky knocks on the earth’, ‘After some time’, ‘Now’, and novels like ‘The servant’s shirt’, ‘If we see that it will bloom’, ‘There used to be a window in the wall’, and story collections like ‘The hut with the green grass roof’ and ‘Dwarf mountain’, ‘Yasi Rasa Ta’, ‘A silent place’, ‘Room on the tree’, ‘Mahavidyalaya’, ‘A story’, ‘The horse’ and other stories’, whose inner recesses give a sattvik taste when one enters and gets lost in them.
