Safety-security guidelines and compensation should be decided… Delhi coaching accident case reaches High Court

Three students died in waterlogging in the basement of a coaching centre in Old Rajendra Nagar, Delhi. Since then, this issue is continuously gaining importance. After the incident that happened late Saturday evening, there was a round of protests in the capital on Sunday. ABVP raised slogans fiercely. At the same time, Rashtriya Pravasi Manch has filed a PIL in Delhi High Court on the incident of death of students due to waterlogging.

Both the accused were sent to 14-day judicial custody
In the petition, there has been a demand to make guidelines for the safety of students and to provide proper compensation in case of an accident. On the other hand, both the accused in this case have been sent to judicial custody for 14 days.

National Migrant Forum filed a petition
Rashtriya Pravasi Manch has filed a PIL in Delhi High Court on the incident of death of students due to flooding in IAS coaching institute located in Old Rajendra Nagar of the capital Delhi. On Monday, a request will be made to the High Court to hear the petition filed on this serious issue at the earliest. The petition demands safety-security of the students and compensation to the victim’s family.

Demand for making security guidelines and giving compensation
The petitioner has made the Delhi government, MCD and Rao IAS parties to this PIL. The petition demands an inquiry into the incident under the supervision of a retired High Court judge and a guideline for the safety of students coming from other states. A demand has been made to give directions for giving proper compensation in case of death of students coming from other states in any accident.
