Round of meetings in BJP, tension of by-elections… is all well in UP politics?

Last Updated on 26/07/2024 by Ankita Jain

It is monsoon season and reports of waterlogging are coming from across the country. Many districts of UP are also affected by floods. Meanwhile, the politics of the state is also in the headlines. The reason is that the opposition is claiming that its own people want to topple its government. However, the BJP is rejecting all these claims. But when the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is holding action mode meetings with ministers, MPs, MLAs from different divisions one after the other, then the knocking question is what is going on in Uttar Pradesh BJP? Show of strength? Philosophy of appeasing the angry? Damage control? Or is everything under control?

The reason is, till now the convoy of the Chief Minister was reaching everywhere, where till now the Chief Minister himself used to go and meet the people. Now the vehicles of the public representatives have started reaching the Chief Minister’s residence at 5 Kalidas Marg in Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met the MPs and MLAs of Moradabad division. Talks were held with the MPs and MLAs of Meerut division. Yogi Adityanath also called the MPs and MLAs of Bareilly division and held a meeting.

In these meetings, it is claimed that the Chief Minister wants to know why the votes decreased? The Chief Minister said that the public representatives should spend as much time as possible among the public. At the same time, MLAs and MPs are complaining about the bureaucracy of their area being out of control. They want that the officials should follow the protocol of the public representatives. The dissatisfaction among the workers due to the decisions of the officials should be removed. The officials who make mistakes in the voting list should not be spared. Nand Kishore Gurjar, BJP MLA from Loni, who came out of this meeting, said in a conversation with Aaj Tak that if the Chief Minister asks for proof against the officials, then the MLA’s statement should be enough.

Many MLAs have complained about the officers

In fact, in the recent past, there have been more than a dozen MLAs or BJP leaders like Kripashankar Singh, BJP candidate from Jaunpur, Pradeep Chaudhary, MLA from Bulandshahr, Moti Singh, who was a minister in Yogiraj Part-1, Subrat Pathak who lost from Kannauj, Ratnakar Mishra, BJP MLA, Tribhuvan Ram, MLA from Mirzapur Varanasi, who had earlier complained about the inefficiency and corruption of government officials everywhere, including police stations and courts. Now it is claimed that the MLAs who are meeting Yogi Adityanath are still saying that action must be taken.

Yogi and Keshav Maurya are having separate meetings

The MLAs and MPs are happy that the Chief Minister is listening to them directly and assuring them. But amidst these meetings happening in UP, it is also important to keep an eye on the meetings happening at Keshav Prasad Maurya’s house. Five Kalidas Marg and Seven Kalidas Marg. Chief Minister’s house and Deputy CM’s house. Political upheaval is still going on with the meeting in Uttar Pradesh. Yogi Adityanath met about 100 MLAs since July 15. These include about 10 MLAs from Prayagraj division, about 20 MLAs from Meerut division, about 10 MLAs from Moradabad division, about 20 MLAs from Bareilly division.

Apart from this, he met more than 30 MLAs. Apart from this, he has also met more than 50 MPs, Rajya Sabha MPs, Legislative Council members, District Panchayat Presidents, Mayors, former MLAs and former MPs. On the other hand, Keshav Prasad Maurya has met more than 40 MLAs since July 15. Apart from these, he has met about 5 MPs and more than 10 Legislative Council members and more than 30 former MLAs, former MPs, former Rajya Sabha MPs or party officials.

Is this not a time for show of power?

This meeting is important because the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh is coming to Delhi for a meeting. 5 Kalidas Marg. This is the residence of the Chief Minister. 7 Kalidas Marg. This is the residence of Keshav Prasad Maurya, who claims that the organization is bigger than the government. Pictures showing courtesy meetings with MLAs, leaders, ministers are being posted in UP politics from both sides. In such a situation, the question arises whether this is a phase of show of strength before the meeting to be held in Delhi? Where if Keshav Prasad Maurya meets MLAs and leaders at his home, then the BJP MLAs in UP, while doing factionalism, start calling Keshav a big leader through gestures.

Political factionalism also intensifies in UP?

At the same time, Sanjay Nishad’s role is also being seen in Uttar Pradesh, which is full of factionalism. Nishad Party chief and UP minister Sanjay Nishad has even raised questions on the bulldozer model in Uttar Pradesh. He had earlier met Keshav Prasad Maurya and now has also met Chief Minister Yogi. Amidst these meetings, the news came that Pallavi Patel, who has given Keshav Prasad Maurya a taste of defeat from Sirathu seat, met Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday. What does the MLA who defeated Keshav meeting the Chief Minister amidst this political turmoil say? At present, the claim is that she met only with the problems of her area. But at present, Akhilesh Yadav is also keeping an eye on the meetings from Lucknow to Delhi, who has already given the monsoon offer of bring 100 MLAs and form the government.

CM Yogi has two challenges right now

Amidst these meetings, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh is facing two challenges. One challenge is the by-elections to be held on ten seats. The second challenge is to conduct the police recruitment exam in Uttar Pradesh, which was cancelled after the paper leak, again without leaking the paper. The exam was cancelled in February. Then came the elections. The wait of those preparing for UP Police recruitment is now over. The exam will be held again on 23, 24, 25, 30, 31 August. A total of 48 lakh unemployed youth will participate in this recruitment. This time a strict law has been made in UP to stop paper leak. Under which a fine ranging from life imprisonment to one crore rupees will be imposed.

Will BJP take revenge for Ayodhya from Milkipur seat?

Will the momentum that the Chief Minister has talked about maintaining in the meeting to discuss the defeat remain intact even in the ongoing tussle in Uttar Pradesh when the challenge is of by-elections? By-elections are to be held on 10 assembly seats of Uttar Pradesh – Karhal, Milkipur, Katehari, Kundarki, Ghaziabad, Khair, Meerapur, Phulpur, Manjhwa and Sisamau. Out of these seats, 5 are with Samajwadi Party, one each with RLD-Nishad Party, while BJP has 3 seats, i.e. five are with NDA. Five are with INDIA Block. But is the real challenge in the by-election of Milkipur of Awadhesh Prasad, who won the Lok Sabha from Faizabad seat related to Ayodhya? Awadhesh Prasad, whom both Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi are constantly making a poster boy like a trophy of defeat of BJP’s Ram Mandir issue. Will BJP take revenge of its defeat in Faizabad related to Ayodhya by winning the by-election on Akhilesh Yadav’s Milkipur seat?
