To speed up the development of road infrastructure in Haryana, work on many road projects related to National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will now be done at a faster pace. A review meeting of road projects related to Haryana was held in New Delhi late last evening under the chairmanship of Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari. Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini and Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Harsh Malhotra along with senior officials of the Central and State Government attended this meeting.

In the meeting, a meaningful discussion was held on the matter related to Mohana regarding removal of Kherki Daula toll plaza, construction of a new ring road for Kurukshetra and providing connectivity to Jewar International Airport from Faridabad-Ballabhgarh bypass. The Union Minister listened to their various demands carefully and assured of immediate action on them.

Bird park can be built in Haryana

In the meeting, the Union Minister said that possibilities should be explored for building a bird park near the National Highway. Four acres of land is required for this. These bird parks will be built on a large scale and the NHAI will take the responsibility of building them. The Union Minister said that there is also a plan to build a multi-model logistics park on the roadside. Waste and ash from power plants can be used for road construction – Nayab Singh Saini

Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini suggested that more use should be made of the waste from cities and ash from power plants for road construction. He said that applications can be made on the Haryana government portal for soil-related works in national highway projects and the availability of soil will be fulfilled.

These road projects will get momentum

The Chief Minister said that in this meeting, the current status of the ongoing road projects like Rohtak-Jind four-lane highway, Jind-Gohana four-lane highway, Delhi-Amritsar Expressway, Ambala-Kala Amb highway, Jagadhari-Tajwala highway, Jalbehra-Shahabad highway, Bhiwani-Hansi highway, six-lane Ambala-Shamli highway of Bareilly-Ludhiana corridor under Bharatmala project, ring roads of Ambala and Karnal cities, four-lane Ismailabad-Ambala highway in Ambala-Kotputli corridor, Pinjore bypass etc. was reviewed. The construction of the projects whose work has been completed more than 90 percent will be completed in the next three to four months.

Discussion on making bypass in Kurukshetra

Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that construction of a bypass in Kurukshetra is the need of the hour and the construction of a bypass will reduce traffic pressure in the city. Currently, due to the absence of a bypass in Kurukshetra, there is more traffic on the local road. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari immediately directed the NHAI officials to provide a report on this.
