RLJP chief Pashupati Paras met Amit Shah in Delhi, a special meeting amid Chirag’s attitude

Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party President and former Union Minister Pashupati Kumar Paras met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi on Monday. Former MP Prince Raj was also present in this important meeting. This meeting is considered especially important because recently Chirag Paswan’s party LJPR has taken a different stand from the government’s stand on many issues including Waqf Board Bill, reservation for creamy layer and UPSC lateral entry.

After RLJP’s different stand, BJP’s state president Dilip Jaiswal had met Pashupati Paras. Now with Paras going to Delhi and meeting Amit Shah, it seems that despite being marginalized in the Lok Sabha elections while being a part of the NDA, his popularity is increasing again. During the meeting, Pashupati Kumar Paras assured Amit Shah that his party will continue to support the NDA in the upcoming assembly elections.

Chirag Paswan has taken a strong stand against the creamy layer within reservations for Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST). He argues that such classification undermines the fundamental goals of reservations. He says that the basis of these reservations should focus on social injustice rather than economic status, which makes the creamy layer policy inappropriate for SC and ST communities.

Regarding the issue of UPSC lateral entry, LJP says that any policy regarding entry into civil services should be inclusive, and ensure that disadvantaged groups get adequate representation and opportunities.

For instance, Chirag Paswan’s LJP has clearly articulated its position on key social and political issues, and called for reforms that prioritise transparency and equality. His party’s commitment to supporting the Wakf Board Bill, opposing the creamy layer in reservations, and advocating inclusive policies in civil service recruitment reflect his strategy to consolidate the support of backward communities and effectively address their concerns.
