In today’s time, Aadhaar Card has become the most important document of your identity. Whether it is to open an account in the bank, to get a child admitted or to take advantage of any government scheme, it is needed. In such a situation, it is important that all the information given in it is updated and UIDAI is still providing the facility of updating documents for free, but the Free Aadhaar Update Deadline is going to end this month, if you have not updated your Aadhaar, then do this work quickly, because after the deadline is over, you will have to pay money for this work.

14th September is the deadline for free Aadhaar update
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has provided the facility to update the Aadhaar Card made more than 10 years ago for free and its deadline has been extended several times. Earlier it was extended from 14 March to 14 June 2024 and then this last date was extended once again to 14 September. This means you have only 14 days left to get this work done for free, after which the fixed fee will be applicable.

This much charge will be levied after the deadline is over
After this fixed deadline for updating the Aadhaar card for free, you will have to pay the charge fixed by UIDAI for doing this important work, which is Rs 50. The special thing is that this free service of updating the Aadhaar card provided by UIDAI is available only on myAadhaar Portal.

Update details online like this

  • Log in to the official website of UIDAI.
  • Go to My Aadhaar portal on the homepage and log in using the OTP received on the registered mobile number.
  • After this, check your details and if the details are correct then tick the correct box.
  • If the demographic information is found to be incorrect, select the identity document from the drop-down menu and upload the document.
  • This document can be uploaded in JPEG, PNG and PDF format.

You will have to go to the center for these updates
As mentioned, the facility of free Aadhaar update is available only online. You will have to pay the prescribed fee for any kind of update in the Aadhaar card by visiting the Aadhaar center. Meanwhile, keep in mind that there are some updates which will have to be done by visiting the center and not online. In these, if you have to update iris or biometric data. Then for this you will have to go to the Aadhaar Center.
